“The only way to describe this Karoo wedding, the Jacobs bruilof, as a blessing from above.
I knew this wedding would be something special, but I was not prepared for how at home I would
feel, and how at peace I felt in the tender moments of the day. I was not prepared for how beautiful
their farm, Rusoord would be. The Karoo completely stole my heart. I was not prepared for how
beautiful the décor would be. If I could redo our wedding, honestly this is what I want. The Karoo
was incorporated in every aspect of the décor. Some vygies and karoo shrubs featured in the
bouquets. I was not prepared for the love and warmth of their friends and family. I also was not
prepared to cry during the ceremony as the guests sang ‘The Blessing’ over David and Marizaan, the
presence of the Lord was so tangible I could not stop thew warm tears swelling in my eyes. And
lastly how real and raw everything about their love was, a complete BLESSING to witness.
This wedding will forever be a favourite, it has blessed me in immeasurable ways.”
